Day 3

Today the children talked through ideas formulated last week from the ideas for maps.. Some of the ideas they came up to put into a map..

So today we started making some of these things with fabric and see what happens.. Some photos of what the children did with the fabric ...

Day 2

After looking through the printed images taken last week, today I discussed the conversations we had on the walk last week with the children. Some topics below that stood out to us all.....
Oak tree - one of the children's Dad cuts trees so she knew all about trees (Miriam)

I showed them the mapping projects from artists Joyce Kozloff and Landon MacKenzie.. Then working in small groups the children created collages to disseminate ideas for a mapping project.














Day 1

For the first session of this residency with senior infants we took a walk around the school grounds. 
The children guided me with stories of what they enjoyed and we took images of what the children wanted to photograph in the grounds. Great day and lots of fun stories! Below are just a sample of the photos we took. I also took some audio of the stories to remember all the children.
